Seeking Conversation

Happy New Year, friends!

Big plans and resolutions are a bit cliche this time of year, but I'm a huge fan of new beginnings. I celebrate every New Year I can get my hands on. All cultures' New Year's traditions are honored over here. And at the risk of playing into the cliche, I do want to let you know that I'll be much more active this year in sharing music and news with you.

For the past few years, I've been writing songs, plays, stories, but not putting out too much into the world. Finishing and releasing a lot of these works just seemed out of reach. As a result, many of these pieces got written, but not fully recorded. It's been sustaining, but not exactly satisfying, you know?

The last full album I released was way back in the innocent days of 2015... and we all know that is a like a lifetime ago. The act of making any kind of art can be a totally personal exercise, but the part about 'making' that I love the most is the conversation that happens after sharing the work. I miss the conversations. I'd like to have more of them in the coming year.

To that end, I'll be releasing brand new singles each month, hosting virtual concerts, and generally being a bit "chatty". If you'd like to join in the conversation, that would be so wonderful.

To kick things off, I'll be livestreaming a concert with Rockwood Music Hall this coming Saturday, January 9th at 8PM EST. The show will be hosted on Rockwood's Facebook page HERE. You can RSVP HERE.

The last time I performed at Rockwood was back in Sept. 2019, when we did a performance of my play, Ghost In The Girl. It was a really cool night with amazing actors and musicians. The first time I ever played Rockwood was back in June of 2008! Holy $@%#! Since then, I've played each of Rockwood's 4 stages, but this Saturday's show will be the first time I play on their virtual stage. I hope you can join me.

Wishing you the absolute brightest and healthiest 2021, and I hope you'll join me for a year filled with music and conversation.

Happy New Year,
