Looking forward to returning to Republic of Pie in NoHo. Great little coffeehouse with tremendous pies and a stage in the back. Reminds me of Think Coffee on Mercer St. from way back.

I’ll be performing a suite of tunes destined for an EP about getting fed up with people and the state of the world so he builds a rocket ship and takes off for the stars. I haven’t finished the story yet, but essentially once the protagonist gets out there he misses Earth but can’t find his way home. He starts a new life on a planet where the story of Earth becomes a new origins myth which might be our own origins myth about a planet called Heaven. So far I’ve only written enough songs to get him to the part about being lonely.

I’m also working on a batch of tunes which seem to be about mental health. This is cool because then I’ll have an EP about outer space and one about inner space. Maybe they should be Side A and B of an LP. Hmm… In any event, I’ve just finished a brand new one called “No Such Thing As Normal” and I’m excited about it in a way I haven’t been excited about a new song in quite some time.
